With most of the manor almost looking livable thanks to everyone’s hard work, the tenants and staff seem rather pleased and eager to keep it that way...more or less. Weston called a meeting in the Foyer to congratulate everyone on their hard work, and once the tenants were excitedly gathered for rewards to be handed out the rat gladly handed the spotlight over to Mister, who went through the list of people who did an exemplary amount of cleaning.
Gruffly clearing his throat, he started, “Thank you to everyone who participated. I did not expect the amount of volunteers who went above and beyond, out of both new and old tenants. This old manor is very big and very dangerous to clean as some of you have experienced-” A ripple went through the crowd, a Dunsparce with Water wings shivering, a shiny Spiritomb shaking his head, and a rusty Skarmory growling with annoyance. “-but the worst seems to be behind us. I would like to congratulate a few guests with honorable mentions.” He takes out a folded piece of paper from his pocket and cleared his throat. “Firstly is Gara, who immediately went to cleaning. As the first I recorded to have cleaned an area, I give you my thanks.”
Snuffling a bit, he moved on, “Next I would like to thank Damian for being a part of the first duo to sign up for any of the cleaning. I appreciate even the thought of cleaning, and the swift response was reassuring.” He nodded to the crow before awkwardly adding, “I would also want to thank Shannon, but I heard he recently went missing. My condolences to anyone who knew him. I personally didn’t see too much of him, but I know Taylor was torn up a bit over his disappearance as their only trusted employee.” Mister turned to glance at Taylor, who fidgeted with their glasses with a sad frown on their face. Shaking his head, he went back to his notes.
“V and Cross, two employees of my own, have also shown good integrity in cleaning, and for going the extra mile instead of taking a vacation, I appreciate them. Next I would like to thank-” Suddenly a small Indeedee walked up to Mister and put his hands on his hips. “Excuse me you big pompous pig, but where were these volunteers when I needed them for my library much less my life? I think you all owe me for keeping me trapped up in that dreadfully dusty attic.” The prissy man crossed his arms and tapped his foot impatiently, awaiting Mister’s rebuttal. A Xurkitree could be heard laughing in the back of the crowd before being hushed by a nearby pink Lopunny/Jigglypuff fusion. Mister slowly turned his head towards him, but said nothing. Weston instead chuckled and walked up to ‘defuse’ the situation. “Alright Ozwald, Eheheheheh, what do you propose we do to pay you back for your, ahem, service to the manor as the most important member of the staff?~” Some of the tenants and staff snorted in amusement, only making Ozwald angrier.
Stomping his foot, he demanded, “You all will clean my library as repentance for your negligence! This I hereby decree your job until I am satisfied-!” Weston interrupted the other waving his wands around and spoke with an air of odd firmness and intimidation he didn’t often have about him, “This next month we will extend the voluntary cleaning offer, but only towards the library where you will dictate the cleaners to different areas so they can help you. After the month ends, so too does my generous offer Ozwald. Does that satisfy you?” Oswald seemed a bit shocked at the sudden turn of Weston’s mood, and simply nodded with a determined frown.
“Eheheheheh~ Perfect, I am glad you see things my way~” With a snap, Weston took the metaphorical spotlight back from the others and announced heartily, “You heard it tenants! You can sign up with Mister for shifts at the Library now! Everyone be sure to treat Ozwald as you would any of us, do not trash his library more than it already is, Eheheheheh~” The crowd was now faced with even more cleaning, how dreadful, but some were already making plans to get on Ozwald’s good side or ruin his day since he acted like such a brat. What do you plan to do?
