After somewhat of a lull in horrors around the manor, Weston gathered all of Woe Manor’s tenants within the theatre. The crowd of guests was considerably larger than before and featured a variety of new faces. Shy, somewhat meek fox folk, to another fox with an affinity for the explosive. Some new people stood out more than others, with towering insect horns or a towering pile of books brought to a formal meeting of all places. One person was even swinging from the ceiling, suspended by ghostly chains. Though, the sights were quickly drowned by darkness as the main stage was illuminated and Weston walked onto the stage, waving at the crowd.
“Now that new tenants have arrived, the staff and I have arranged a fun bonding activity for you all... heheheh... I’m sure your seniors have made you well aware of the importance of trusting your fellow neighbor and the importance of knowing when to let that trust die.” The shiny dedenne man smiled in a way that didn’t reach his eyes. “Due to the incident that happened several years ago around trust falls, we’ve given you something less traditional to bind you together.” As Weston spoke, the assistant managers of the manor along with some unown handed out flyers to the members of the audience.
“Taylor has surrendered the garden’s hedge maze for a little race. It is a dangerous maze... There are legends of people seeing faces within the leaves of the hedges, as well as a dark figure that stalks the maze at night... Strange noises can be heard coming from the center as well, and some say that the layout is never the same twice.” Weston trailed off into eerie laughter and had to catch himself before continuing with the explanation of the activity. “There will be two teams, Southeast and Northwest, made of the wings of the same names. All tenants will work together within an alliance of members of their hall, people on the same floor and wing as them, and attempt to reach the center of the maze together. Maybe you can solve the mystery of the haunting along the way heheheheh...”
“Do note guests... any burrowing, flight, and passing through the walls of the maze is prohibited... Our unown will escort you out of the competition if you attempt to do anything like that... heheheh... I suggest that you meet up with your team soon, the competition starts tomorrow at dusk...”
