Veterans
There are many types
Young and old, male and female
They serve this country
This collage represents the VA employee I work with and the VA population we serve.
The left represents the person I’ve been working with:
a younger female veteran that is able to achieve her educational and career goals with the help of the military. She was deployed in Germany and is a mother of two.
The right represents the majority of the veterans we serve at the Philadelphia VA Center: predominately older men who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The middle connects and divides the VA worker and the veterans via camo:
Barriers: inaccessibility/technology, mental health and financial issues, stereotypes.
Similarities: missions, training, and community
An important message from the amazing VA worker: "Not all veterans are crazy or violent"
