Sydney Jones

For this assignment I interviewed an MCC staff member so that I could be inclusive of the many communities that the Cribs for Kids program serves throughout the Philadelphia area. My drawing is an outline of the city of Philadelphia with points scattered throughout the city. The points are all connected to a large heart in the middle, the heart representing Maternity Care Coalition. During my interview, I learned that some strengths of these communities are a strong sense of community and a strong sense of resilience and adaptability. Although these communities face many hardships, there is a strong sense of support among community members that may not be prevalent in higher income communities. Neighbors are more willing to help each other, and everyone is always looking out for one another. While COVID impacted all communities, I learned that individuals living in these communities are very resilient and able to adapt to situations due to previous hardships. This drawing highlights the strengths of different communities in Philadelphia and shows the vast reach of the Cribs for Kids program.
