This year, our school proudly continued its Erasmus+ journey by hosting students, teachers, and expert trainers from across Europe, nurturing intercultural understanding and professional development through a rich variety of incoming mobilities and events.
We welcomed four student groups as part of our Erasmus+ partnerships and eTwinning projects. In October 2024, students and teachers from Hungary visited us for the “Traditions: Keep, Change or Drop?” project, sparking reflection on the evolution of cultural heritage. In November, we hosted students from Emmerthal, Germany, for the project “Youth Against Racism and Discrimination.” During this mobility, students researched and critically analysed incidents of racism, collaborated in workshops, and created a compelling call to action. In March 2025, the Speak Up mobility brought together students from Germany (Berlin), Italy (Sicily), Poland, and the Czech Republic for intercultural dialogue and debates on current environmental and social challenges. Finally, in May 2025, we hosted students from Italy (Calabria), Greece (Thessaloniki), and Slovakia for the Breaking the Language Barrier project, with activities exploring communication through art and culture.
Our school also welcomed educators from Hungary, Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Germany for job-shadowing mobilities. These teachers observed lessons, exchanged best practices with our staff, and attended tailored workshops focused on inclusive education, innovative teaching, and digital tools.
Beyond student and staff exchanges, we organized two high-impact training events for educators across Cyprus. The first was a national seminar on Teaching to Immigrant Students, with distinguished guest speakers Mr. Dimitris Koutsogiannis, Professor at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Deputy Chair of the Centre for the Greek Language, and Ms. Aspasia Chatzidaki, Professor at the University of Crete and Director of the Laboratory of Intercultural and Migration Studies. The second was a practical two-day workshop led by international trainer Nicky McNab, focused on Project-Based Learning, Gamification, and Teaching Unplugged.
