The visit to Ava Gymnasium was part of a larger project among Spain, Cyprus and Sweden with the title: Resilience for the Future. The inaugaral meeting of the three schools took place in Taby Sweden from the 18th to the 22nd of March 2024. The first section was under the name: Sustainable Horizons: Erasmus+ for Global Goals and Cultural Exchange. The students of our school had to prepare for the mobility with regular weekly meetings before the mobility took place. The students had created presentations on various SDGs.
The goals of this mobility included communication between students from diverse cultural backgrounds, development of teamwork skills, deepening knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals, understanding the concept of resilience, contact with other cultures (Swedish and Spanish), development of critical thinking, presentation skills, and active listening/attendance at lectures and presentations.
These goals were achieved through the collaboration of the students to complete the task they were asked to carry out in intercultural groups. This task involved the creation of separate posters, each presenting a different Sustainable Development Goal, which they would present on the last day of the program. Another determining factor in achieving the goals was the activities in which the students participated, such as the visit to the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, the Resilience Centre at the University of Stockholm, the exploration of Stockholm, and the activities that the students themselves organized. At the end of this experience, the participants were able to improve their social skills while forming international friendships.
