ERASMUS+ MOBILITY (14-20/04/2024)

PARALIMNI LYCEUM 2023-2024

A week filled with emotions, gratitude, pride, and unique moments. Alongside thousands of people who flooded the space of Ancient Olympia, our mission experienced unforgettable moments.

15/04/2024 - Main Activity 1:

On-site observation of the IGNITION OF THE OLYMPIC FLAME.

The Lighting was performed by the Priestess at the temple's space, to be transferred from this sacred space to Paris for the Summer Olympic Games. The group of students from our school and students from partner schools who participated in this activity experienced firsthand Olympism and its values. Olympism for them is now a guide for the development of their ethics and character, allowing these children to transmit these values to society. Life experiences will accompany them throughout their lives!

Congratulations to our students for their exemplary presence.

16/04/2024 - Activity 2A:

Visit to Gastouni Gymnasium (Reception School 1)

Joint activities of the two schools. (Friendly Volleyball match, Mixed teaching of Physical Education class. Students from both schools participated, and teachers from both schools taught each other, Exemplary teaching of Olympic Education class, Presentation of research on athletes' nutrition in Ancient Greece, etc.)

16/04/2024 - Activity 2B:

Visit to the exhibition "OLYMPIC GAMES THROUGH CONTEMPORARY LENSES 1896-2020.”

Visit to the "ARCHIMEDES" museum.

17/04/2024 - Activity 3:

Visit to Astros Tripoli High School (Reception School 2)

Joint activities of the two schools. (Friendly Volleyball match, Mixed teaching of Physical Education class. Students from both schools participated, and teachers from both schools taught each other, Exemplary teaching of Olympic Education class, Presentation of research on athletes' nutrition in Ancient Greece, etc.)

18/04/2024 - Activity 4:

Visit to the Kallimarmaro Stadium and implementation of planned activities.

Revival of ancient Olympic sports in their natural environment with the students of the mission as protagonists. A brief revival of the award ceremony following the ancient standards. Experiences that will accompany them throughout their lives, with the wish to transfer the principles and values of "fair competition" to the rest of the student community.

19/04/2024 - Activity 5:

Visit to the UNIFIED SPECIALIZED VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL - LYCEUM AEGALEO (Reception School 3)

Joint activities of the two schools. Integration of all students into the special school environment through common sports activities. Friendly basketball, volleyball, tennis matches, and other adapted games tailored to the students of the special school unit in mixed teams. Tour of the facilities of the Special School Reception.
