Paralimni High School inaugurated the launch of the Erasmus+ programme with the completion of the first mission to Austria, as twelve students and two teachers visited the Rankweil school from 26 February to 3 March.
The aim of the mobility was to organise joint actions to raise awareness among students and teachers on issues of nutrition, exercise and sustainability. In this context, our students presented the benefits of the Mediterranean diet with an emphasis on the consumption of foods rich in natural herbs that grow on the island of Cyprus. Furthermore, they attracted the interest of the students of the Rankweil school through the presentation of the natural wealth of Cyprus and the opportunities provided for exercise and activities in nature.
At the same time, our students visited a modern model milk processing unit specialising in the production of natural cosmetics and organic products. With the aim of promoting exercise, our mission also participated in a workshop on learning Austrian dances, while a hike was organised to discover the natural wealth of the Alps. Furthermore, they had the opportunity to visit the surrounding areas, including Liechtenstein and Munich, demonstrating the importance of mobilities in providing social skills and cultural experiences.
Finally, the exchange of good practices and the promotion of environmental awareness are part of a broader framework of actions organised at Paralimni Lyceum, highlighting our School as a local network for the training of teachers and students.
