I practice this skill throughout Project 1 while doing the background research for the selected building.
I practiced this skill throughout Project 2's group work while producing the construction drawings
From this 14 weeks Building Construction Materials module, I learned a lot from my groupmates and tutor. I would especially like to thank My tutor, Ar. Edwin Chan for guiding me throughout the projects and help me to understand the constructions drawings and how it is detailed. I really enjoyed the project 2 in the way how we get to understand the drawings that we are producing which needs us to explain like how we want to apply the materials and finishes.
One of the thing that I learn through the project is to appreciate the materials based on their properties. During project 1, we did a lot of research online to study why does that materials is used in that building and like how is that material applied on the building. This is very special learning experience to me as the house that i selected consist of many interesting architecture material such as Copper and also some Japanese traditional architecture components like bamboo clay wall and Washi paper doors.
Another thing that I learn from the project is the to provide the additional information to our construction drawing like to indicate what are the heights, finishes, materials, area as well as the name of the components. Besides that, we also have to provide the details like how the ceiling will hang, the foundations, roof get supported, and such which is very enjoyable to make the drawings look more realistic and it shows our understanding regarding construction.
