I learned this skill by learning AutoCAD software in Project 2
I learned this skill by applying the basics of designing from tutorial exercise into my project 2 and 3
From the 14 weeks of Design Communication Module, I learned a lot form my tutors and course mates. I would like to thank Dr. Illia for guiding me throughout the project and improved my drawing skill by giving me constructive comments throughout my tutorial exercise and also tips on how to improve my presentation board in final project. I also like to thank also Mr. Adib and again Mr. Daniel for brushing out my AutoCAD skill throughout these days. I really enjoyed a lot with the projects especially the project 2 as it is the first time I get to learn the AutoCAD, things didn't go easy and I had to try and error a lot throughout the project to get familiar with the functions. It does mean a lot to me which makes me clearly realize how detail a digital produced drawing can be as compared to a manual drawing. Other than that, Project 1 is also an Interesting exposure to me getting to compose a movie poster is indeed something different and a bit of relaxing as compared to the models and technical drawings. Of course, the tutorial exercise is also an benefiting task to work with where I get to brush up my basic skills again which we have learned in Foundation (FNBE). There are also fun activities carried out during tutorial for this module, where we get to have rapid sketching outdoor at the lakeside and also one point perspective sketching at the Syopz mall.
One thing that I learned from this module is the details of my Orthographic Drawing, which I start to practice the line weight of my drawing in my types of thickness although it is in AutoCAD but I did make the variety of line weight more specific according to situation rather than 3 to 4 line weight in Foundation. I started also to learn more types of Hatching for technical drawing rather than just the concrete hatching for example the Earth Hatching, Timber Hatching and also Floor Hatching.
Another thing that I earn from this module is definitely AutoCAD. I am really glad that I could get to know this early in my degree and this really adds up my confidence in completing my technical drawings properly if my model is looking challenging to draw out thus makes me able to explore my design more deeper. The reason is that drawing had always been something stopping people from designing curves and angular structure to ensure that they are able to produce the technical drawings properly and with this I am sure I can walk further and braver in designs.
