Private 31981, 12th Bn., York and Lancaster Regiment. Killed in action 27th June 1917. Aged 24. Son of William and Emma Fletcher, of Harts Terrace, Layerthorpe, York; husband of Gertrude Garnett (formerly Fletcher), of 57, Westmoreland St., Middletown, Skipton, Yorks. Commemorated Arras Memorial, Pas de Calais, France, Bay 8. Windross Fletcher also served in the West Yorkshire Regiment with the service number 34525. Commemorated on the Holy Trinity Church War Memorial Heworth and in The King’s Book.
