Robert Jackson 1826

Robert Jackson was the twin of John Jackson 1826, sons of Thomas Jackson 1795.

He was recorded in the 1841 census for Hovingham living in the following household -

He was recorded in the 1851 census, when he was 26, as a visitor at Lowmore Farm, Nawton, in the household of James and Christiana White. Robert was recorded as a Cordwainer, as was the son of the farmer, George White 1828.

Robert married Ellen Pegg 1830 at Easingwold in 1853.

The 1861 census records him and Ellen as living at Slingsby in 'Private House' (Church Lane) , he as a bootmaker. The 1871 census he and Ellen are recorded in Norton, with him as a shoemaker. The 81 census records him as a widower, living with his sons John, George, Sidney, Fred and daughter Emma.

He was still living for the 1901 census as a widower in the household of William Fletcher and Henrietta ?, at 15 Dennison St, York.
