Achievements and Activities  to Date

NBHBA was formed in 2022 to benefit all Equestrians, Cyclists and Pedestrians by providing a focal point for the Local population to identify any Bridleway Issues and to advise on ways in which these might be resolved. The following are things which we have undertaken since then.

Achievements and Correspondence to date are - 

• Mar 2025 - Submission to Planning Inspectorate re Rainshore House

• Feb 2025 - Meeting with Cubico and their reply

• Jan 2025 - Comments sent in regarding Proposed Scout Moor Wind Farm 2 

• Dec 2024 - Comments sent in regarding the Northern Development Plan at Pilsworth

• Nov 2024 - Guide produced to help reporting dangerous driving to the police

• Nov 2024 - Submission to first consultation on Scout Moor Windfarm II

• Nov 2024 - Objection to Planning Application Rainshore House

• Aug 2024 - Comments made to RMBC re the local Development Plan.

• July 2024 - S38 Application Granted for fence line near Owd Betts

• June 2024 - Path Clearances around Norden

• June 2024 - S38 Public Hearing

• June 2024 - Followed up contact made in Mar 2023 with RMBC Highways re signs on Edenfield Road

• May 2024 - Statement of Cases for S38 Public Hearing

• Feb 2024 - Reporting Bridleways Issues

• Feb 2024 - 3 DMMO's submitted to RMBC

• Dec 2023 - Response made to 2nd set of Comments received on S38 Application

• Oct 2023 Responses to the comments made on the S38 Application for the Fence Line at Owd Betts

• Sept 2023 Call-In Letter sent to M.Gove re Crimble Mill

• Sept 2023 BBC Interview re Future Windfarms

• Sept 2023 Submission of S38 Planning Application

• Aug 2023 Correspondence to Councillors ahead of the deliberations on PLanning Application for Crimble Mill

• Aug 2023 Agreement on the design for Equestrian Access at the three agreed locations on the Fence Line near Owd Betts 

• June 2023 Email sent to Cycling UK

• June 2023 Successful meeting with Council and Landowner to discuss Shawfield and Caldershaw Lane.

• May 2023 Working with the Reclamation yard at Meadowcroft Mills to ensure safe route for horses. 

• May 2023 Agreement signed with UU to allow members to use the concessionary routes around Greenbooth and Ashworth Reservoir.

• Mar 2023 Contacted RMBC Highways asking for signs on Edenfield Road

• Feb 2023 Letter to planning re proposed Crimble Mill Development

• Jan 2023 Liaised with BHS to put in plans for changes at Codshaw Quarry resulting in the new improved access paid for by the BHS for which we are very grateful

• Nov 2022 Meeting with BHS and RBBA to determine once and for all what changes in access is required by the Equestrian Community up on the Moors by Owd Betts.

• Oct 2022 Pat & Barbara attending the planning meeting and spoke regarding the PRoW concerns re the development proposed at old Crimble Restaurant.

• Sept 2022 Letter sent to RMBC Planning regarding the proposed development 21/00092/FUL, - Development of residential dwellings on old Crimble Restaurant site. 

• Sept 2022 Letter sent to RMBC Planning regarding the proposed development 22/00597/FUL - The Manor, Edenfield Road. 

• Sept 2022 Letter to Bamford Councillors & Anne Shorrock regarding upcoming planning proposal for development on land adjacent tp Jowkin Lane.

• Sept 2022 Letter sent to RMBC Planning regarding the proposed development 22/00588/FUL - Crimble Mill. 

• Aug 2022 Letter sent to RMBC thanking them for work in Ashworth Valley

• Aug 2022 Blocked Path Cleared of fallen branch. A branch blocking the path from Roods Lane to Paperhouse bridge was removed by a member of NBHBA

• June 2022 Letter sent to RMBC Planning regarding the proposed development 21/00092/FUL = Crimble Restaurant. 

• June 2022 Letter sent to Countryfile and Points of View regarding the coverage of the new Highway Code Rules and the lack of coverage of Equestrians.
