Length Requirements: CP 2 1/2 pages Honors 3 1/2 Full pages (Not Including Works Cited)

Steps for Success:

*Each step MUST be completed before you may turn in the following step! Honor Code Reminder: All work and all steps must be completed by you (not parents, tutors, peers, or any other individual); during editing/proofreading, a paper should not change more than 15% by any one person. Violation of the honor code will result in a zero that cannot be made up.

Step 1. Choose a Topic for your Short Story Literary Analysis Essay and Complete the Short Story Literary Analysis Planning Handout (assigned to you under Google Classroom). Do this BEFORE beginning essay. The planning handout is due by 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4th or Wed. Oct. 5th; it is a double-weighted classwork grade.

Step 2. Use the Short Story Literary Analysis Essay Outline (assigned to you under Google Classroom) . The Outline is a Quiz Grade (due depending on your class meeting time on Wed/Thur, Oct. 5-6th by 11:59 p.m.).

Step 3. Use the Short Story Literary Analysis Essay MLA Paper to create your Essay (assigned to you under Google Classroom). Copy and paste the information from your outline into it. Delete the outline material (Roman Numerals, Letters, explanations, etc.). Your paper should look like a MLA paper with an introduction, 3 body paragraphs, and a conclusion, and a Works Cited. Make sure you include the parenthetical citations! First draft is due @ the start of class on Friday, Oct. 14th). Check your paper for errors. Check your paper against the rubric. The Final Draft of the essay is a Major Assessment Grade (due @ the start of class depending on your class meeting time on either Wednesday, Oct. 19th Thursday, Oct. 20th).

Step 4: There is a Poster Element with this project. It is due with the essay.
