In the drawing, design a small house: The house should have a backyard, windows, and doors.
The house should have an interior.
In the interior space: Find a spot for your room. Your room should be identical to your own real room. Furniture, color, bed, etc….
When completed, turn in your work by adding your drawing/design to 3D Warehouse, then embed in your portfolio.
Log in to Sketchup for Schools using only the attached link. (Do not use Sketch Up full version).
Use your school email account to log in (LOG IN WITH GOOGLE using your school email account).- DO NOT SIGN UP.
Complete the attached OBSTACLE COURSE as a practice run.
Embed the final drawing on your portfolio on the newly created page: 3D.
Creating a 3D replica of your room is one of the most fun projects you can do. The end product will be a 3D printed model of your room. So details matter.
Create a page on your portfolio for MY ROOM 3D Project
Take pictures of at least the four sides of your room while standing in the middle of the room.
Take pictures of any detail you think matters to your model.
Measure and write down the measurements of the width and height of the walls.
Measure and write down the measurements of the width and height of the details in the room: Examples are beds, chairs, tables, light fixtures, computers, closets, shelves, windows and doors.
Using SketchUp, draw the room. Start with the floor plan if you like but do not have to.
Add the furniture and then the walls. No need for the ceiling. And also you may only do 3 walls and keep one wall completely open.
Using Sketchup, follow the video instructions on the left to complete this exercise. 1hr.
RENDERING 3D MODELS
Use the "3D house with your room in it model" from last week as your project to render.
Log on to Sketchfab with your Google ID.
Use the school email account. Do not fill out any information.
Just log in with Google using the school account.
After having EXPORTED your 3D model in .kmz upload it to Sketchfab.
You may need to EXPORT it in KMZ on the cloud to Google Drive.
Then download the file from Google Drive to your computer.
Then Upload the file from your computer to Sketchfab.
Share and embed on your portfolio.
