8th Grade Students for Washington DC and NY Field Trip:
Before leaving for the trip, make sure you have access to a device with Google Maps installed, such as a smartphone or tablet. (Optional as you can share photos from friends and teachers).
Throughout the trip, use Google Maps to navigate to each location you visit (optioonal) , and take photos and videos of the landmarks, monuments, and other interesting sites you see.
As you take photos and videos, make sure to label them with the name of the location, the date, and any other relevant information.
Once you return to school, create a timeline of your trip using Google Maps. To do this, log in to your Google account and open Google Maps.
Click on the menu icon in the top left corner, then select "Your Places" from the dropdown menu.
Click on the "Maps" tab, then select "Create Map" to begin creating your portfolio.
Name your map something like "Washington DC and NY Field Trip" and add a description that includes the dates of your trip.
Start adding locations to your map by clicking on the "Add Marker" button in the top left corner of the screen.
Enter the name of the location you visited, then select the appropriate marker icon to represent it on your map.
Add your photos and videos to each location by clicking on the marker, then selecting "Add Photo or Video" and uploading your media files.
Repeat this process for each location you visited on your trip, until your map is complete.
Once your map is finished, share it with your teacher or classmates by clicking on the "Share" button in the top right corner of the screen, then selecting the appropriate sharing options.
Congratulations! You have now created a digital portfolio of your Washington DC and NY field trip using Google Maps.

Using your field trip Itinerary, I would like you to take all the photos you can, then share them with notes about the trip on tour builder and Google Maps.
The goal is to create ONE BIG tour with photos and comments from everyone on the tour, which can be used for both academics and fun.
It will be graded. And it is due when you come back. (Will decide on a date in class).
