Our border design is inspired by the idea of brain wave activation through multisensory engagement. This concept has influenced the composition of the border into ripples/waves through the height and layout of the plants. Plants were selected for their sensory qualities—particularly touch, scent, and sound—as well as year-round appeal. The planting encourages interaction, challenging the idea that borders are only for viewing. It invites playful exploration, aiming to spark broader interest in the natural world. A colour gradient from red to blue, with yellow accents, also adds dramatic visual effect.
We are very pleased with our creation and winning a bronze medal. It was such a honour for two students who love plants but have never been to a flower show before, and we cannot wait to make the most of everything we've learned through this experience to our future projects.

A part of our plants were delivered to Wharncliffe Side Primary School and were planted as a part of The Discovery Outdoors Edimental Kitchen Classroom project. [See @edimental.kitchen.classroom on Instagram for the detail]. Other plants will be used for other school projects led by Discovery Outdoors Sheffield.
