Residential Burn Permits

As of May 1, 2020, Tehama County requires residents to obtain a Cal Fire Residential Burn permit prior to burning landscape debris on their properties. The process is simple: Watch a short video and complete a brief application here.

Remember to print out your permit so it is available for display when you do any burning.

Check with the Tehama County Air Pollution Control District before burning. Call (530) 527-3717 no earlier than 8:30 AM to determine whether or not it is a permissive burn day. When residential burning is allowed, hours are 10 AM to 5 PM.
