Dumping & Green Waste

The Big Yard Waste Bins - Get Ready for June 15th!

The most popular question in recent weeks is: when are the bins coming?! In recent years, Green Waste of Tehama County has provided yard waste bins for community disposal of pine needles, twigs and small branches.

This year, Green Waste of Tehama County will be providing a community green waste bin at the Mineral School starting on June 15, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. when they will have staff on hand to help residents dispose of their yard waste that they bring to the location.  Afterwards, they will leave the bin for approximately one month. So, begin getting ready to bring your yard waste over for free disposal! Thank you Green Waste of Tehama County for supporting our local conservation and preservation efforts!

Meanwhile, some people are ordering yard waste bins for the clean up of their own property.  Contact Green Waste of Tehama County to request a dumpster. More information can be found here: https://www.greenwasteoftehama.com/services/residential/residential-roll-off

Want to help the community clean up effort? If you see green waste bags piled alongside of the road, these might be from volunteers cleaning up the public walkways. If you can dispose of the pine needles properly, please feel free to take and dispose of them. Keep the bags, or return to same location. Thanks volunteers!

Community Clean-up Events

Each year, Green Waste hosts a clean-up event for residents of Mineral, Manton, and Paynes Creek at the Manton Transfer Station, where folks may unload trash, e-waste, and bulky items such as couches for 4 hours.  The event is free, regardless of subscriber status.  This is a service Green Waste provides in order to go above and beyond in helping to keep our communities junk-free and beautiful.  Please note that not all items are accepted.  Watch the calendar and home page for announcements and details.

Dumpster Days

Twice each summer, Green Waste places 20- and 40-yard dumpsters.Employees are on hand for five hours to assist subscribers in dumping their yard waste into the bins.  Dumpster Days are Green Waste's way of saying Thank You to their customers here by helping them get rid of large amounts of yard trimmings and pine needles all at once for free.  Please note that not all types of landscape debris are accepted, Watch the calendar and home page for announcements and details.

Transfer Stations

Perhaps you would rather haul landscape debris to a Green Waste transfer station than burn it on your property. The Mineral Transfer Station was closed in 2019. However, Mineral residents may use either the Paynes Creek or Manton transfer stations.

Subscribers pay $49.27/quarter to dispose of up to 2 cubic yards per month. Subscribers who exceed 2 cubic yards in a given month will be charged $7.50/cubic yard thereafter. Subscriptions may be put on hold or resumed at will. Non-subscribers pay $11/cubic yard of garbage / trash / debris / refuse / roofing / concrete / asphalt / yard waste materials.

Some items, such as auto and truck tires, large appliances, heaters / furnaces, furniture, and tree stumps from 12" to 24" in diameter require special per-item fees for both subscribers and non-subscribers.
