Lassen Park Foundation Auction Update

The Lassen Park Foundation raised net just under $75,000 through their annual auction, which was live online this year, instead of the usual in-person gathering. “We had a tremendous online event that turned out much better than we could have hoped for. That income is about 90% of a normal year's auction for us, meaning we're heading into our Fiscal Year 2021 with a better cash flow position than we thought possible during the pandemic. We are cautiously optimistic, and planning our Summer 2021 Volcano Adventure Camp program accordingly,” said Jennifer Finnegan, Executive Director of Lassen Foundation. “We are incredibly grateful for the 184 people who registered online and bid on our auction packages. It was so much fun to produce the online event! It was quite the challenge for all to do something so different from our normal fundraiser, but a testament to the love our donors have for the park that it worked out so well.” You can still watch on YouTube the event that was held live on Sept. 19th. Funds raised support Lassen Volcanic National Park and camp programs. Donations for Volcano Adventure Camp can be made online or mailed to Lassen Park Foundation PO Box 33 Anderson, CA 96007. ►Trees and Wind are Bringing More Pine Needles, But a Reminder of No Dumping on Forest Service Land Has Been Requested

It has been requested that we extend the message to remember that it is illegal to dump on Forest Service land and that it also presents a fire risk. It was reported that several residents were seen dumping green waste off of the 172. Rather than risking a fine or citation, you may want to ask neighbors if you can use their Green Waste cans. In addition, Green Waste will deliver and pick up a bin. Often, neighbors will want to share the bin and costs with you. Feel free to email us to ask if we know of any available cans, people looking for bins, or if you’d like some volunteers to help clean up your pine needles and branches.
