Meaning of CoA Explained: The coat of arms of Quinta Velha is formed by a red mantle at the bottom, topped by the Royal Crown of Quinta Velha. The shield has an Iberian format, containing a red frame with seven armillary spheres, representing the influence of Portuguese navigation in the finding of the territories of Quinta Velha and also the Conference of Santiago. In the center of the shield we have a blue background, representing the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Quinta Velha and a tower, representing the Fort of Saint Joseph and the Three Wise Man Fortress. Above the shield there is a helmet that represents the noble house of Quinta Velha. As supporters of the shield there are two human figures representing the first settlers: the one on the right carries a banner with the flag of Quinta Velha and the one on the left carries a banner with the Portuguese Royal flag used at the time of the discovery of the lands of Quinta Velha, in allusion Portuguese influence on their culture and history.
