Note: the website badge system and display is a work in progress! Only 18 Badges show up on a phone unless you turn it sideways, and only 34 Badges show up on any device. Because of the many redundant badges, it's possible you just can't see one of your badges. The system also makes it difficult for CC to proactively notify you of badge expirations.
If your new certification doesn't show up in your badges, email Climbing Continuing Education cl_continuing_education@mazamas.org. (The Mazamas website badge request form is for requesting other non-climb-leader badges from staff, and does not go to the CC.)
The cost of most retraining can be reimbursed by the climbing committee. See Training reimbursement rules and procedures for details.
The Climbing Committee recognizes that there are instances where a leader may be unable to complete a training recertification.
Certification waivers are granted on a case-by-case basis. A leader must submit a request for waiver to the Climbing Committee, identifying the certification that is lapsed or will lapse, and a commitment to meet recertification requirements.
There are multiple resources and options to maintain CLCE certifications. In addition to Mazama organized classes a leader may take 3rd party classes or participate in Mazama training classes as an instructor.
