Mazamas Climb History

The Mazamas has an illustrious 130-year history of leading climbs in the mountains of the Northwest, beginning with our founding on July 19, 1894 on the summit of Mt. Hood.  

The history of Mazama climbs, including their outcomes, form a valuable guide to the optimal dates to schedule climbs, and identify past leaders who just might have some advice.  Of course, with global warming, most ideal dates are now 2-3 weeks earlier than they were in, say, 1980!
