After the Climb

Post-climb leader responsibilities include:

• Ensure all team members are accounted for.

• Leave a clean camp.

• Remember to sign out at the ranger station, climber register or other location where you completed the climb registration form.

• All accidents must be reported to the Mazamas office, Climbing Committee, and the Board within 24 hours of completing the climb. 

• Within two days of returning home, the climb leader shall complete the online climb report. 

• Complete an incident report form after any accident, near miss, or behavioral issue.

• Return cleaned ropes and other equipment within the week following the climb so they are available to other climb leaders.

• Damaged equipment should be hung on the rack above the work table located at the top of the stairs in the Rope Room with a note detailing what happened.
