The Mazamas climbing program thrives through partnership with other Mazamas committees, the support of the entire Mazamas organization, and the resources of the larger climbing community.
The Climb Committee partners extensively with other Mazama committees, in particular:
Climb leaders are essential to the climbing education programs
The CC provides technical leadership and direction to the education programs, helping to set curriculum and safety policies
Risk Management and Critical Incident Stress Management work closely with the CC to debrief and assess any incident on a climb, and support those involved in the incident
First Aid works closely with the CC on curriculum and supporting leader training and recertification programs
Because of this close cooperation, and the need to be aware of the training that new climbers bring to our climbs, climb leaders should stay aware of changes to Mazamas education curicculum. Here are some useful links:
