Makes 8 Scones
Ingredients:
2 1/2 Cups Flour
1 Tbsp Baking Powder
3 Tbsps Dark Brown Sugar
1 Tsp Cinnamon
1 Tsp Ginger
1/4 Tsp Cloves
1/4 Tsp Nutmeg
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/2 Cup Cold Butter
1/4 Cup Molasses
1 Cup Heavy Cream
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400F. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper, silicone baking mat, or cooking spray and set aside.
Whisk together the flour, baking powder, dark brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using your hands or a pastry cutter, until the dough has pea-sized crumbles. Stir in the molasses and heavy cream until it just starts coming together.
Knead the dough on a floured surface until it comes together, taking care not to over-knead! Shape the dough into a flat disc and cut into 8 wedges. Place each scone on the prepared baking sheet. Bake the scones for 15-20 minutes until they are golden brown on top.
Once the scones are cool, top with your favourite cream cheese glaze or frosting and some holiday sprinkles for some extra pizazz!
Store any leftover scones in an airtight container at room temperature. They will keep for about a week.
Enjoy!
