Makes 4 Dozen Cookies
Cookies:
Ingredients
3/4 Cup Margarine, Softened
3/4 Cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 Tsp Vanilla
2 Cups Flour
1 Tsp Baking Soda
1 Tsp Cream of Tartar
Directions
Preheat oven to 350F. Cream the margarine and sugar together until soft and fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla. Mix in the flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar. Roll out the dough to about a 1/4 inch thickness on a floured surface and cut into assorted shapes. Bake for 7-8 minutes on a lined baking sheet. Cool the cookies completely on a wire rack before decorating.
Icing:
Ingredients
6 Cups Icing Sugar
6 Tablespoons Milk
6 Tablespoons White Corn Syrup
1/4 Tsp Lemon Juice
2 Tsp Vanilla
Directions
Mix all of the ingredients together. Add more milk if your icing is too thick and more icing sugar if it is too thin. I like to have my icing at '9 second consistency'. Check this by scooping some icing and letting it drizzle back into the bowl. If the ribbons of icing completely disappear in 9 seconds, then you're right in the sweet spot!
Enjoy!
