IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS - Continuous Updates -->
Maine Tax-Aide trained and qualified volunteers provide free federal & state income tax preparation and electronic filing (e-file) services at many sites across Maine from late January to mid-April each year. Although this program is primarily designed for low to middle-income and elderly taxpayers, there are no income or age restrictions and no AARP membership requirement to receive Tax-Aide assistance.
If you're thinking about it and want to know more about Maine Tax-Aide from a fellow Mainer, just email your contact information (name, email address and phone number) to one of our State Management Team (SMT). We will be happy to contact you to discuss specific volunteer opportunities in your local area.

Volunteers are trained and certified annually by the IRS and AARP Foundation to prepare and e-file federal and state tax returns that fall within the scope of the IRS VITA/TCE and Tax-Aide program. This includes most Form 1040, 1040ME, and the accompanying schedules and worksheets.
AARP Foundation volunteers will receive equal opportunity and treatment throughout recruitment, appointment, training, and service. There will be no discrimination based on age, disabilities, gender, race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, economic status, or sexual orientation.
