TY2025 Announcements -->
You as the Taxpayer(s) are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information on your tax return. Our volunteers do not provide legal or financial advice.
Ensure that we can prepare your taxes within the scope of the Tax-Aide program (see Note 1 below)
What you need to bring:
Social Security cards/proof for everyone listed on the tax return
Government Photo IDs for all taxpayers (self & spouse)
All current tax year tax-related documents and records, especially
SSA-1099 - Report of Social Security Benefits
Details of Tips, Overtime, and Car Loan Interest, if applicable
Your Bank account details: Routing (RTN) and Account numbers - to process your refund or payment
A copy of the previous year's tax return
Completed Form 13614-C, Intake/Interview& Quality Review booklet for the current tax year (available by late January at host sites), and any additional required paperwork must be fully and accurately completed before we can begin your return. Help is available upon request
A joint return requires the signature of both spouses before it can be e-filed unless you have a Power of Attorney (PoA).
Once your return is prepared, it is reviewed by a second trained and certified volunteer to ensure that your tax return information is accurate and complete.
Our volunteer tax preparers are deeply committed to providing the best services and advice within their capabilities and training. Please treat them with the respect and courtesy they deserve, as they should treat you.
Note 1: We cannot assist you with some types of tax returns. Please review the Scope of Services to see what we can and cannot do. If you have any of these situations, we cannot prepare your return.
Note 2: You may have to use a different tax preparer. Unfortunately, we cannot give you any specific tax preparer recommendations.
