We can normally do most federal and Maine state income tax returns for the current, and sometimes previous, tax year(s). The types and complexity of tax returns we are authorized to do may be limited by a number of factors.
These may include current tax laws, IRS regulations, program limitations, site availability, volunteer staffing, counselor certification level, and sheer complexity may limit our ability to complete your tax returns. AARP membership is not required to use our services.
The list below is provided only for guidance and is not all-inclusive.
Low to moderate-income taxpayers
Retired taxpayers
Self-employed individuals
Cash accounting ONLY, with no employees, no Inventory, no net operating loss, and no more than $50,000 in Total Expenses
Taxpayers who make contributions to their retirement accounts
Taxpayers who itemize deductions, if it benefits the taxpayer
Prior-year returns for (up to two (2) previous tax years if needed (dependent on scheduling & counselor training)
Amended Tax Return(s) for up to two (2) prior years, if in our system (dependent on scheduling & counselor training)

Foreclosure of a primary residence
