Luke 1:26-38
The Birth of Jesus Foretold
26 In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”
29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God.31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”
34 “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”
35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37 For no word from God will ever fail.”
38 “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.

Mary's Song
46 And Mary said:
"My soul glorifies the Lord
47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
48 for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
49 for the Mighty One has done great things for me—
holy is his name.
50 His mercy extends to those who fear him,
from generation to generation.
51 He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;
he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.
52 He has brought down rulers from their thrones
but has lifted up the humble.
53 He has filled the hungry with good things
but has sent the rich away empty.
54 He has helped his servant Israel,
remembering to be merciful
55 to Abraham and his descendants forever,
even as he said to our fathers."
Matthew 13:53-57
Jesus' Brothers and Sisters
53 When Jesus had finished these parables, he moved on from there. 54 Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed.“Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked. 55 “Isn't this the carpenter’s son? Isn't his mother’s name Mary, and aren't his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? 56 Aren't all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?” 57 And they took offense at him.
Mary, Mother of Jesus is also called the Virgin Mary and is Saint Mary and the Mother of God...
Mary was very young when she had Jesus...She probably was an early teen, when she became impregnated by the Holy Spirit...And Mary believed in angels...She ask the angel who came to her, how could she become pregnant...She ask the angel this, “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”...The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you...So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God...Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month...For no word from God will ever fail.”...“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her...
Poor and young Mary, probably had many other thoughts being an young teenage girl, and now pregnant...Surely there were worries for this young unmarried peasant girl...Or were there worries?...After all she was just told by an angel she would in nine short months be bringing the Son of God into this world...Who wouldn't be having thought after thought of what this meant, and what was to be?...I wonder what it meant to her to hear she would be having a Son, and He was the Son of the Most High One?...We read and know about very few of her thoughts...How would she raise Him, in her current situation?...In the gospels, we hear nothing about her parents concerning how they might help her, in her now pregnant situation...Yet through all this uncertainty, we witness her thoughts in the form of a Song...And the song poetically praises our LORD...A young teen, giving us the good news that the Messiah is coming in the form of a Song...How pure in heart she is...
Mary, the Mother of God is impregnated by the Holy Spirit coming on her and over here...And with the power of the Most High overshadowing her, she must have felt in her thoughts and self of great comfort...And we might ask ourselves is God who now would become Man and Flesh, how might He enter the world?...If God became Man would't we expect Him to have an utterly different way to enter our world?...After all He is the LORD of LORDS...He could and can come into the world anyway He wanted to...A young virgin teen would give birth to the Host of Hosts...A girl pure in heart...And for me oddly enough, Mary would have other children beside the Messiah, who would grow up with Him -and watch Him grow up...How interesting!!!...His hometown wondered where the knowledge He had came from...I suspect the Son of the Carpenter's brothers and sisters often pondered the same...Maybe Mary told the whole family Jesus is the Son of God...And wouldn't they believe her?...After all, we generally believe what our Mother's tell us...
