Votes and Polls
Votes
Votes are used as a way to help decide whether or not to implement well-balanced suggestions.
They are posted in the #voting channel in our Discord server and given a time of 24 hours.
Players can react to the message to voice their opinions.
Please read the channel description of #voting to familiarise yourself with the rules regarding votes and polls.
A vote won't necessarily be counted immediately after its expiry, as it's not considered a matter of urgency - in fact it's better the longer it's allowed to be active as we should have a more accurate representation of the community's opinion.
When a vote is counted, two things happen:
Voters' activities are checked. Inactive voters are removed.
Alternate accounts are removed (including the main account of whoever used alts).
The final result is posted in #voting.
We usually listen to votes, however there are rare occasions of 'blind voting' where a player rallies their friends or bribes other players to vote for what they want. In this situation we will assess how it affects the final result, and if it potentially changes the outcome, we'll have to ignore the vote and the staff member responsible will make the final decision based on the initial arguments of the suggestion.
Polls
Polls are an informal way for staff to gauge opinions on certain matters. They are also posted in #voting.
There is no time limit and no formal process to count results. Final results aren't posted either.
