LSC
(LOTR Survival Coins)
About
LSC is a virtual and non-transferable currency. It's not the same thing as LOTR Mod coins.
This currency can only be earned using two methods, and can only be spent on exclusive abilities for sale in the lobby shop.
You can check how much LSC you have using /lsc, and you can check the wealthiest players using /toplsc.
What Can I Buy With LSC?
The lobby shop sells exclusive abilities.
LSC abilities are applicable to items such as weapons, armour and tools, and are on par with store and LSX abilities.
The abilities are listed at the bottom of this page.
How Do I Earn LSC?
LSC can only be earned using two methods:
Territories:
To find out how territories work, check out our conquest page.
Each 5% of a territory's resources provides a certain amount of LSC - this amount is automatically set to try and target releasing a total of 6,000 LSC per week via territories, so it can change depending on how many people own territories.
This LSC amount is affected by level and home multipliers, so for example, a non-home territory with the highest level (Level 3) will provide whatever the base 5% LSC value is multiplied by 2.
As explained on our conquest page, you can claim/steal territory resources by either owning a territory or raiding someone else's territory.
Dungeons:
To find out how dungeons work, check out this page.
Killing the final boss in a dungeon gives every player who helped kill it some LSC proportional to how much damage each player dealt to the boss, i.e. the more damage you do, the more LSC you get.
The total LSC a boss kill gives can be checked using /lsc on the Minecraft server or .lsc in the Discord #server-chat channel.
The LSC system automatically sets this value to try and make sure the total LSC given out by dungeons per week equals 6,000, so it can change depending on how many people are killing the final boss.
The LSC each of these methods gives can be checked using /lsc on the Minecraft server or .lsc in the Discord #server-chat channel.
LSC Abilities
September 2022: Frostbane
Applied to bows.
When you shoot a player, mob or NPC which is no larger than 2 blocks high and 1 block wide, a cage of ice will be erected around them if there is space, trapping them for 1 second. Sound and particle effects are played when this happens.
Note that when something is caged, it will have 5 seconds of immunity from being caged again.
Also note that when something is caged, they are also extinguished of any fire, so using the Infernal modifier with Frostbane is not recommended.
October 2022: Bonebreaker
Applied to warhammers and battleaxes.
When getting a critical hit on an enemy, any other enemies in a 5-block radius of that enemy will receive splash damage which is strongest at the centre of the area, and weakest at the edge. Note that to take damage, an enemy needs to be in a clear line of sight - e.g. it won't work if you can't see them because they're behind a wall.
The damage at the centre is equivalent to 75% of the weapon's melee damage (which can be enhanced with modifiers), and it decreases linearly to half of this damage at the edge of the area.
Those who receive splash damage will also receive the effects of infernal or chilling if you modify the weapon with one of those.
There are particle effects and a cracking sound when hitting enemies.
November 2022: Mighty Smite
Applied to spears and throwing axes.
When a weapon with this ability is thrown, upon impacting an enemy it will summon a lightning bolt at its location. All players, mobs and NPCs in a 5-block radius will be damaged and knocked back by the bolt. Those closer to the centre will experience higher damage.
This splash damage is based on how much damage your thrown weapon deals, so a spear will deal more splash damage than a throwing axe, and modifiers will also affect splash damage.
When hitting an enemy, that particular enemy will receive a 5-second period of immunity from the ability activating.
March 2023: Thunderblow
Applied to swords, scimitars and spears.
When you hit a victim, there is a chance for Thunderblow to activate. The chance is 10% for critical hits and 5% for non-critical hits.
The ability will also be guaranteed to activate for a specific weapon once if you hit something after not hitting anything with that specific weapon for the last 30 seconds.
Upon activation, the closest player, mob or NPC to the initial victim will be struck with a lightning bolt and receive half of the damage you dealt to the initial victim.
Then the next closest victim will be struck and receive half of that damage (i.e. 25% of the damage dealt to your initial victim).
Then the third closest victim will be struck and receive half of the damage dealt to the second closest victim (i.e. 12.5% of the damage dealt to your initial victim).
This will happen to all players, mobs and NPCs within a 7-block radius of your initial victim.
July 2023: Smelting
Applied to pickaxes and mattocks.
When you break an ore whilst sneaking, the ore will instantly smelt and be dropped as its ingot.
Notes
Once you put an LSC ability on an item, there are only two ways to remove it from the item:
Remove it with no refund using the command and then adding remove, e.g. /frostbane remove
Extract any LSC (and LSX) abilities from an item back into command form, but this will destroy the item in the process and cost LSC. To do this, use /extractabilities
