How To Join

If you’re new to Minecraft, you might find some of this information a bit challenging. It’s important to have a basic understanding of how to install and add mods to Minecraft, as well as how to install Forge or use launchers like Technic or CurseForge. However, the staff team put together a guide to help you join the server.

Listed below are a few options on how you can play, along with basic step-by-step guides for each launcher, if you’re not familiar with them.

Download the Technic Launcher

Sign in with your Minecraft login information

Click on the "Modpacks" button at the top

Enter in "LOTR Survival"

Click on "Install" in the bottom right corner

Let it install (this might take a minute)

Click on "Play" when it is finished

Download CurseForge

Choose Minecraft as your game if you haven’t already

Sign in with your Minecraft login information

In the search box, enter "LOTR Survival"

Click on "Install"

Let it install (this might take a minute)

Click on "Play" when it is finished

Download Forge for Minecraft 1.7.10

Run the Forge installer: Double-click the downloaded Forge installer and select "Install Client" from the options. Make sure to select the correct directory where you have installed Minecraft

Launch Minecraft with Forge: Open the Minecraft launcher and select the Forge profile from the drop-down menu in the bottom-left corner of the launcher. Click "Play" to launch Minecraft with Forge

Download The Lord of the Rings Mod (version 36.15)

Click on the "Installations" tab at the top of the Minecraft Launcher

Hover over the Forge installation and click on the folder icon on the right side

Find the folder labeled "mods" open it, and place the LOTR mod in there

Go back to the Minecraft launcher, select the Forge profile, and click "Play" to launch the Forge installation
