People certainly do appreciate the effort county officials are putting forth now a days to get the naturalization of foreigners attended to right. And while on this subject of naturalization we wish to say, that we too had occasion to go through the whole process of naturalization twice, because the county clerk of over twenty years ago did not exactly know what to do, and on the strength of his counsel and advise we were given citizen papers afterward that proved to be illegal, and that after having them in our possession for over eight years. When we came into the country of course we wanted to become a citizen and therefore asked the then county clerk for our first citizen papers, which at that time could be obtained immediately upon landing on American soil. Of course we could not talk and were fortunate to ask some of our best friends to go with us as translator The advise was, you are under age and do not need any first papers, in fact we could not let you have them on account of you being under age. After you are in the country for five years you go and ask for your second papers, which we did about ten years later. After having had them in our possession for eight years the error was detected, and we wrote the department at Denver to have them cancelled, for we would not under any condition have anything in our possession that was not absolutely on the square. "That's the reason why we took this action against ourselves about two years ago, so that we may get a clear title to our property. So much for the benefit of our friends.
