Political gossip prognosticate a lively fight at the general election next fall for the office of State superintendent of Public Instruction.
Although the election months away Democratic and Progressive leaders are urging the candidacy of G. N. Child, who for several years past has been grammar grade supervisor in the Salt Lake City Schools. Mr. Child's strength is being greatly augmented by educational people in all parts of the state, who declare that he is The logical man to succeed the late A. C. Nelson as state superintendent of public Instruction .
The Republican leaders on the other hand are supporting A. C. Matheson for the position. Mr Matheson is now holding the office by appointment of Governor Spry.
