Cache County Advertiser. February 11, 1914
“But say, you people strike it just right when you insist on subscription being paid in advance. That is business, good business at that, And I shall certainly be a booster for you on account of the stand you take in the matter of cash with order.”
Such are the expressions on every hand by people who call at our office, pay their dollar and get the assurance that after their Year's subscription has run out, the paper stops. Remember when you want us to mail you the advertiser you lay down your dollar first. Don't ask us to break this rule for we will not do it for the best of our friends, and when your paper expires you know it stops. We want our subscribers to know that we take this stand for their and our welfare and protection. Do we get subscribers that way? Well I should say! Last Saturday alone we landed 16, and mind you they came right up and did business in a business way. To advertisers and those who are contemplating letting advertising we wish to say, If you want to know what success in advertising is, don't ask us, but go direct to those who have been and are advertising with us, they will gladly tell you. And what a recommendation they will give us. One firm not long ago advertised a three-day sale and it was a sale. They actually run short of Clerks and had to press several additional hands into service on the last moment.
As to want ads, why we are the specialists? Last week there was a horse for sale for $150 and a day later three horse was [sic] sold. And what did it cost the owner? Just $1. Our customers are satisfied and you will be after having given us a trial. We don't want you to believe what we say, we want you to prove it.
