Porcupine

There is no overlooking the spikes of the porcupine. It is its most recognizable trait.

Tens of thousands of these quills cover its body and serve as its greatest defense.

A porcupine will shake its sharp barbs to warn predators of the pain it can inflict.

Even if quills are lost in a charge of defense, this animal can grow them back over time.

Porcupines are quite large ~ about two to three feet long not counting their tails.

And, they can live in just about any terrain with the exception of the Arctic.

Unlike other desert creatures that depend on their clan for safety, a porcupine is not very social.

It prefers to live its life in solidarity. The porcupine’s message cautions how you use your own quills.

What you say can make or break a person’s day.

Think before you speak. Don’t underestimate the power of your words. (S. Finelli)
