Camel
Contrary to what you may have heard, a camel’s hump is not used to store water.
These unique appendages store fat that can be converted to food or water as needed.
What is true is a camel’s ability to drink as much as forty gallons of water
to survive in the dry desert climate.
Unlike other mammals that become dehydrated after losing
only a small percentage of water, a camel can go much longer.
Additionally, their nostrils are capable of retaining water vapor
that can return to the body as needed.
The camel’s message is that the journey through life may be long and hard.
With your own periods of drought, you’ll need a reservoir of hope
that things will change for the better.
The strength you gain from past experiences will sustain you in all that you may face.
And, the wisdom you have learned from your life lessons will be
the acumen that you can use to deal with any challenge.
Replenish your spirit in the good times so that you can tap into this life force when it is most needed. (S. Finelli)
