Meercat
Often seen standing upright on their rear legs, the meercat is a social creature
found in the African plains.
In this pose, a few dutifully meercats serve their peers as lookouts for birds of prey.
If a threat is spotted, they will let out a shrill cry warning others to take cover.
Meercats themselves are notable hunters that work together in pursuit of small game.
Much of their time they spend in a complex burrow system caring for their young.
They forage for insects, lizards, birds, and whatever fruit they can find.
As a totem, meercats represent resourcefulness.
They demonstrate the advantage of working as a group to find ways to overcome difficulties.
Tap into the support of your social circle when needed, and be willing to help
when the same is asked of you. (S. Finelli)
