Kangaroo Rat
Hopping along on its hind legs, it is obvious how the kangaroo rat got its name.
It can leap as high as nine feet and quickly change direction between jumps when fleeing danger.
This small creature is well accustomed to life in the desert.
So much so, that it can survive without ever drinking water.
The kangaroo rat obtains moisture from the seeds that it consumes
and keeps this liquid inside its body by not sweating.
Another exceptional feature is its sense of hearing.
It can easily detect the sounds of predators approaching including something as subtle as a bird’s wings.
The message of the Kangaroo rat is for you to recognize your physical and mental strengths
and then use them when dealing with the ups and downs in life.
These assets include your innate talents as well as the skills that you acquire.
Whether your abilities stem from an analytical mind or a charismatic personality,
you can find ways to be self-sufficient as well as successful. (S. Finelli)
