Mirage

As the sun’s rays refract from the sandy surface, the perceived image

resembles a distant body of water.

Many a weary desert traveler has encountered this optical phenomenon known as a mirage.

Trudging on in hopes to quench undeniable thirst; the illusion eventually fades as one gets closer.

As in life, some things that seem too good to be true lose their appeal upon closer look.

The wisdom you can gain from the symbolism of the mirage is the ability to discern

what is real and what is wishful thinking.  Take the time to check things out.

Try not to jump to conclusions.

While it is good to remain hopeful in all circumstances, it is best to know exactly what you are facing.

Once you do, trust that you can take on all that life throws at you.

Like all that carries on in the barren landscape of the desert, you too will survive!  (S. Finelli)
