Antelope

Antelopes are strong, slender creatures that are found in a wide range of habitats,

including the desert.

They gather in massive herds and rely on the size of these groups for protection against predators.

An antelope have cloven hooves with special glands that leave a scent of their movement

that can linger on the ground for days.  This is helpful for those members that may stray.

With eyes on the sides of its head, the antelope’s keen sense allows it

to perceive danger from many directions.

And, its strong limbs make it a fast runner with great stamina.

What the antelope teaches is to pay attention to your many senses

as well as your knee-jerk reactions.

You may find yourself in situations where you are expected to act quickly.

Be aware of your surroundings, and recognize what requires your immediate attention.  (S. Finelli)
