23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord".
Romans 6: 23
As we get closer and closer to celebrating the day of our Lord’s birth, let’s remember how fortunate we are to know how the full story unfolds—and why Jesus came to earth to be with us. He came because we have a sin problem. It doesn’t take long, either today or in those days, to realize how true this is.
The wages of sin is death, and that price still must be paid. Yet even knowing the punishment would fall fully on Himself, Jesus led with hope, peace, and joy. With His life given for us on the cross, Paul tells us in Romans 8:1–2:
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”
With the life of Jesus that we are about to celebrate, He made us free. When we put everything we have into Him and choose to follow Him, He sets us free from the slavery to sin that we all struggle with. Jesus paid the price to set you free today. And one day, every tongue will confess and every knee will bow to acknowledge He is Lord. Let us rejoice today and know that we are free!

God, thank You for this day. Thank You for being the one and only Chain Breaker. You have paid our price that we deserve and you give us goodness instead. You give us Hope, Peace and Joy and we don't deserve it. You are a Good Father. We ask You to break the chains of this world today that hold so many of Your children. Help us all see and follow Your light. Give us the grace to understand You and Your gift to us today. We thank You for this moment together.
In Jesus's name. Amen.
