17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling[d] the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5: 17-19
God’s plans have been in place for hundreds—even thousands—of years, and we see them woven throughout the Old Testament. A great reminder for us today is that this is still the same God we serve now. It can be easy to slip into the mindset that the God of Scripture was their God, and that we somehow have a different one today. But the same God who fulfilled prophecies spoken centuries before Jesus was born is the same God who is actively working in our lives right now.
Take time to grow your trust in God’s Word as He proves it true over and over again. Then take that trust and lean into what Jesus says about the new life you have in Him.
Micah 5:2
“But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
who are too little to be among the clans of Judah,
from you shall come forth for me
one who is to be ruler in Israel.”
Isaiah 7:14
“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign.
Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and shall call his name Immanuel.”
Jeremiah 23:5
The Messiah would come from the lineage of King David.

Father, you have told us from the beginning what You were going to do and throughout the Bible You help us to understand what it was that has been done. Thank You for being the Great Planner. You know what is in store for us and You will use it for the good. We trust You God, help us when our eyes fix too much on this world and we forget about Your love. Turn our hearts back to You and give us the grace we need to serve You better today.
In Jesus's name we pray. Amen.
