9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Galations 6: 9
Today we lift our eyes and look at the road still ahead of us. It’s day ten of our journey, and things are starting to feel a little less new and exciting. All the things we planned for this month now carry a little more weight, and a few unplanned moments are beginning to disrupt our plans. It all looked so good on paper, but now circumstances are making us rethink the trip.
Psalm 34:11–14
“Come, O children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. What man is there who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.”
You have to keep going. Our area probably understands this better than most, because working hard has thankfully become the standard in so much of what we do—but this applies to our faith more than anything else. Faith requires effort.
Joseph took on the responsibility of raising the Son of God, and what did he teach Jesus? To work with His hands, to keep going day after day, and to produce something honest and worthy through faithful, daily work.
When boredom creeps in today, remember that this day still matters on the journey to see Jesus. You may not notice much happening. You might not speak to a single person interested in hearing about Christ. Still, you must keep moving forward. Be alert today. Turn away from evil and do good. Pray as if this were the last day of the journey—and watch the Peace that comes when you lay down tonight.

Thank you, God, for another opportunity to work for Your Kingdom today. Be with those who physically can't work and bless them with healing in ways only You can. Be with us today to keep us from idle hands and we repent of the times we have had more than enough of a break from our Kingdom work. Remind us and weigh on our hearts today that this journey is the most important thing we will ever do. Give us eyes to see those who need help along our way so that we don't miss anyone.
Thank you for showing us the way we should go.
In Jesus's name we pray. Amen.
