"From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.”

This is the first time Jesus predicts his death and resurrection, and he goes on to do this two more times. Jesus knew what had to be done to save us from our sins. God’s plan is perfect since the beginning, but the only price to pay was Jesus being laid on the cross. Right after Jesus predicts his death, Peter takes him aside and says that will never happen to him, but who are we to question what the Son of God says. If we truly believe that Jesus is Lord, everything begins to make sense. Instead of questioning and being concerned about God’s plan, we need to trust and prepare the way for Jesus to come down once again.
