LEGO Star Wars II entered production very quickly after the original game released. Releasing on 11th September 2006 on the PS2, Gamecube, XBox, XBox 360 and PC, and in 2007 on Mac.
LEGO Star Wars II is definitely a follow-up to the original, taking place across the course of the Original Star Wars Trilogy, (Episodes IV, V and VI. aka. the "Good" ones). Once again, the storylines of the episodes are followed very closely, with changes here and there mainly for comic relief.
There have been some updates though. While the basic game remains the same, two players can play together etc. There have been some additions. There are now LEGO's that can sometimes be found bouncing around, and they can be built into something to help progression. Also added is more abilities for various characters. Jedi now have more force powers. Sith can use Force Choke's and Lightning now as well. Blaster characters can get up close and personal with enemies, attacking them in new ways.
The most notable newest thing is Gold Bricks. A way to track Progression alongside the usual percentage meter. There are a total of 99 Gold Bricks in this game. 27 are collected from each Episode. 10 from the Bounty Hunter Missions, and 8 bought from the Cantina Counter. For each Level, you get one for completing the Stage, one for getting True Jedi in Story, one for getting True Jedi in Free Play (Yes, in Free Play, another change) and one for completing the Mini-Kit. There's also a new collectible, Red Bricks, unlocking new Extras for purchase. Overall, LEGO Star Wars II is a lot bigger than LEGO Star Wars.
Overall, while the game is the same, various additions make this the better of the two games. The walkthrough is down below:
