William Edwards

William Edwards, born on May 28, 1789, was the eldest of six jockey brothers.

Born on Derby Day, he rode his first winner at Newmarket in 1800.

He won the 1806 Oaks on Bronze before training two further classic winners.

William died at Windsor on September 2, 1875, aged 86.

William left over £5,000.
