This workshop is suitable for Key Stage 3 students.
Ems Lord leads this highly interactive workshop exploring ways mathematicians use modelling to predict the spread of infectious diseases and keep us all safe. Be prepared to make predictions, test ideas and discover the connection between the Derbyshire village of Eyam, Isaac Newton and the return of the soldiers from the trenches in 1918/19.
Ems Lord is President of the Mathematics Association for 2019-2020 and Director of the NRICH project based at the University of Cambridge.
